A Joyful Start to Blueberry Season at Running Fox Farm

We were thrilled to open the gates to our blueberry fields this weekend and welcome our community to the start of another Pick-Your-Own season here at Running Fox Farm. It was heartwarming to see couples, families, and neighbors come together to enjoy the simple pleasure of gathering fresh, organic blueberries on our peaceful hilltop.
The weather was just right, the berries were plump and sweet, and the energy in the field was full of laughter, conversation, and the rustle of berry buckets. One young visitor called it “the best snack you can pick yourself,” and we couldn’t agree more.
We were especially struck by the abundance of wildlife that shares this land with us. As folks picked under the morning sun and evening breeze, we spotted cedar waxwings, robins, bluejays, and eastern bluebirds darting among the bushes. Their presence reminded us of the special balance here between cultivation and conservation.
In fact, the sightings have inspired us to start a bird logbook at the farm—a place where visitors can record the birds they see while picking. We think it will be a lovely way to build community around both farming and nature. Stay tuned for details next weekend!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support local agriculture and experience the land with us. We’re open daily from 7 AM to 7 PM, and we can’t wait to see you again soon.
